A small, atypical market changed by de facto dollarisation. Covers how foodservice is supplied today, import requirements and a directory of Venezuelan importers and distributors.
Venezuela's food and beverage market was estimated at around USD 1,080 million in 2025, with projections pointing to some USD 1,900 million by 2032, at a high single-digit compound growth rate. It is a small market by value and an atypical one in how it works: the de facto dollarisation of a large part of transactions has substantially changed purchasing conditions compared with the previous decade.
For a foreign supplier, that means the older market references describe a country that no longer exists commercially, and that the choice of importer — for its access to foreign currency, its logistics and its customer base — matters more than in any other market in the region. This study sets out the structure of the market and its channels, the access and import requirements according to the supplier's origin and the categories with the best prospects, and includes a directory of Venezuelan importers and distributors in the HoReCa channel.
