A reference guide for foreign suppliers of branded and private-label products Market size · Key players · Opportunities · Market-access requirements Directory of foodservice importers & distribution partners
Singapore is a high-income city-state of roughly 5.9 million residents plus a large tourist and expatriate population. Published estimates of its foodservice market range from about US$9.1 billion for 2025 on a narrow operator-revenue basis to around US$15.2 billion at the higher end, with broader value-chain estimates reaching US$22–29 billion; the commercial profit sector was estimated at about S$15.1 billion, roughly US$11.3 billion, in 2024 and is projected to grow towards some S$18.4 billion by 2029. The defining feature of this market is that Singapore imports more than 90% of its food, sourced from over 180 countries and regions. There is effectively no domestic agricultural production to displace: the question is not whether to import but through which importer, and at what price and quality — which makes the market unusually accessible to a well-prepared supplier and intensely competitive at the same time. The channel is served by established distributors supplying hotels, chains and caterers, among them Bidfood Singapore, Culina, FoodXervices, Lim Siang Huat and Country Foods. This study sets out market size and structure under each definition, profiles those distributors, explains the access requirements and documentation for foreign suppliers, identifies the categories with the strongest prospects, and provides a directory of Singaporean importers and foodservice distribution partners.
